Nevada Supreme Court Justice Nancy Saitta, a former Las Vegas Municipal Court judge, has been recognized as a Woman of Achievement in our state.
The honor was bestowed Thursday by the non-profit Nevada Women's Fund, a community foundation in northern Nevada.
Justice Saitta was appointed a Las Vegas Municipal Court judge in 1996, later being elected to Clark County District Court.
At the Supreme Court, Saitta co-chairs the Court Improvement Committee and is chair of the Judicial Public Information Committee.
Prior to taking the bench, she was a Senior Deputy Attorney General and served as the Children's Advocate for the State of Nevada.
"It is a great honor to be recognized by the Nevada Women's Fund, which has done so much to promote women's causes and achievements," Justice Saitta said. "We have seen the results of these efforts in the legal and judicial fields, where women have made great advancements during recent decades."
The keynote speaker at the event was popular freelance writer and CBS News contributor Lee Woodruff.
