LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

McCarran Airport saw a drop-off in the number of passengers from March to April, but the number from last month increased from the same month a year ago.

According to numbers released Thursday, a total of 3,554,497 passengers traveled through the southern Nevada airport in April of this year.

A total of 3,654,736 passengers traveled through McCarran in March.

The April 2012 number was still nearly 100,000 passengers more than the number in the same month in 2011. That equated to a 2.7 percent jump.

So far this year, the airport has seen 13,493,137 people come and go, up from 13,106,171 this time last year. That's an increase of 3 percent.

The top five carries serving McCarran are Southwest, Delta, Allegiant, Continental and American. U.S. Airways, which was ranked in the top five last month, fell out of that list this month.
