Valley of Fire celebrating Nat'l Trails Day

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

You and the entire family are invited to Valley of Fire State Park for a day of free trail safety and stewardship programs in celebration of National Trails Day.

The available programs are as follows:

Leave No Trace: Learn seven basic principles of trail conservation.
Desert Survival: What would you do if you were stranded in the desert without food and water?
Practices in Cultural and Historical Sites: Learn basic rules for traveling in cultural or historical sites.
Wildlife Viewing Practices: Learn different ways to spot, track and identify wildlife.
Wilderness First Aid: Learn what to do in a medical emergency in the wild.

Each event is Saturday, June 2 at the Valley of Fire visitor center. While the events are free, there is a $10 per vehicle parking fee. Nevada residents can receive a $2 discount.
