Conan Obenchain appeared before a court last month for DUI suspect Noel Lardeo.
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
An organization aimed at stemming drunk driving in Las Vegas is raising funds for a teen who was critically injured in a DUI accident.
Stop DUI scheduled a fundraiser with a west end McDonald's restaurant Wednesday all in the name of 15-year-old Conan Obenchain.
Obenchain was hospitalized after being struck Feb. 5 by a car driven by Noel Lardeo, 26, near a bus stop on Spring Mountain Road.
Las Vegas Metro police suspected Lardeo of driving drunk in the early morning incident.
The teen's left leg was amputated and he remains in a rehabilitation facility, Stop DUI said.
The fundraiser is expected to help towards medical bills incurred in the accident. The McDonald's restaurant at Sahara Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard will donate 20 percent of sales from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to the organization.
An addition $1,000 donated by the organization will also be part of the collection.
Those who would like to contribute to the fund in Conan Obenchain's name can do so at Nevada National Bank under account No. 2103206.
