LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A driver was killed while a passenger was hospitalized after the sport-utility vehicle they were in crashed into a wall and overturned at a U.S. 95 on-ramp.
Nevada Highway Patrol reported the wreck at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday on the 95 at Rancho Boulevard.
Troopers said a man driving a Jeep somehow lost control. The vehicle crashed head-on into a right shoulder barrier and overturned, coming to rest on its roof.
The driver died at the scene while a woman in the Jeep was transported to University Medical Center.
No word on the woman's condition.
Troopers said a tread separation on the vehicle's left rear tire may have caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
Three right lanes of the northbound 95 was blocked following the crash. They re-opened at around 4:50 p.m.
