NORTHAMPTON, MA (WSHM) -

The Northwestern District Attorney's Office has identified the individuals involved in Saturday night's crash between a bicycle and motor vehicle.

According to the DA's office, the cyclist is 18-year-old Harry Delmolino of Hadley.

Delmolino suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, which occurred around 7:45 p.m. The victim is still at Baystate Medical Center.

The DA also said the car in the crash was driven by 43-year-old Celso Avelar of Northampton.

The statement from the DA said that the crash occurred when Delmolino was cycling east on Main Street as Avelar began to turn left onto Pleasant Street.

The force of the collision threw Delmolino from his bicycle and onto the pavement.

The DA said multiple witnesses gave statements on the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by Northampton Police, Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and state police detectives with the district attorney's office.
