Young musicians at Green Valley High School were presented with a Grammy Award Saturday afternoon.
They put on a concert and were given the Grammy Signature Schools Gold Award. It's for excellence in music education.
Out of 22,000 schools in the nation, GVHS is one of only six that received a gold award for 2012.
"I believe that what we have here at GVHS is just a really high level of performance. So I'm just really proud of all the staff and all the students that worked so hard," band director Diane Koutsulis said.
Along with the high honor, the school also received $5,000 for their music department.
