Goodwill of Southern Nevada has announced the opening of a full-scale retail store and donation center at 9385 W. Flamingo road.
Following a ribbon cutting, the store will open to shoppers at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 1. The store's drive-thru donation center will open Saturday at the south side of the building.
"We are thrilled to provide shoppers and donors a Goodwill store location in the southwest part of the Valley," said Goodwill of Southern Nevada CEO Steve Chartrand. "The opening of this store marks the ninth full-scale Goodwill Retail Store in southern Nevada and will further our mission of helping put people back to work in our community, no matter their barrier to employment or disability."
More than thirty people have been hired to work at the store and it will serve as a training location for Goodwill of Southern Nevada's Community Based Training program, which assists those with disabilities in assessing their work skills.
Like all Goodwill retail stores, the new location will feature a wide variety of gently used merchandise including clothing, shoes, accessories, housewares and electronics.
The store will be open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The drive-thru donation center will operate 7 a.m. until 8 a.m. every day.
