LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A poker tournament on the Las Vegas Strip this weekend is raising money for area students while giving the winner a shot at the World Series of Poker Main Event.

Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada is set to host its second annual tourney at the Aria Resort and Casino on Sunday.

Money raised in the tournament will benefit JA's programs on financial literacy, work-force readiness and entrepreneurship to 20,000 southern Nevada students.

"We are thrilled to have garnered such great support from high-profile businesses for this year's Poker Tournament," said Alan Diskin, president of Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. "This event represents a major portion of our fundraising efforts and without the help of our sponsors this event wouldn't happen."

The tournament starts at 1 p.m. with a party to follow the event.

The entry fee is $200 with a $100 add-on and a $100 re-buy.

First place winner gets a $10,000 entry into the World Series of Poker Main Event this year. All players making the final table also win prizes.

For those who want to attend only the after-tournament party, you can purchase them in advance for $50 or $100 at the door.
