It's the news Runnin' Rebels fans have been waiting for. Findlay College Prep standout and McDonald's High School All-American Anthony Bennett has signed with UNLV.

Bennett, a 6'8", 240-pound power forward, signed a letter of intent Monday to enroll at UNLV as a freshman for the fall semester. It marks the first time the Runnin' Rebels have signed a McDonald's All-American since 1983.

Originally from Ontario, Canada, Bennett is a five-star recruit ranked as the No. 6 overall player by CBS Sports and No. 7 by ESPN. He is ranked No. 1 at his position.

"We are excited to have Anthony Bennett join our program," head coach Dave Rice said. "He is a winner whose versatility allows him to make plays from multiple spots on the floor. He is an explosive scorer, excellent rebounder and terrific passer. Anthony is a great teammate and has a tremendous basketball background."

Bennett averaged 16.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game with Findlay Prep this season, helping them to an astounding 32-1 record and the school's third National High School Invitational (NHSI) championship in four years.

Bennett was named MVP of the NHSI and his seasonal rebounding average was the highest in school history.
