LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Motorists traveling through U.S. 95 near the Summerlin Parkway connector should expect detours and delays this weekend as construction continues in the area.
Nevada Department of Transportation said southbound U.S. 95 will detour through Rainbow Boulevard beginning at 9 p.m. Friday.
In addition, traffic eastbound on Summerlin Parkway will be diverted through Buffalo Avenue to connect to the northbound 95.
A portion of Rainbow will also be closed, diverting traffic to surface streets and marked detours, NDOT said.
Northbound 95 will be restricted to one lane in the area.
NDOT said crews are using the weekend to safely pour concrete on the bridge decks for the Summerlin high-occupancy vehicle flyover bridge.
Drivers heading to the affected area will be notified by overhead signs on detours and delay times.
The work is part of a $26 million project slated to be completed this July.
