Boulder City police enforcing pedestrian safety laws

Posted: Updated:
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Boulder City Police are making sure people follow the traffic laws with a Pedestrian Enforcement Wave.

The event is Monday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Officers will watch a crosswalk on Nevada Highway just west of Juniper Way.

The newly finished crosswalk is in front of a McDonalds restaurant.

This area receives a lot of traffic with visitors on the way to Hoover Dam and people on their way to work outside Boulder City.

Police will look for drivers not yielding to pedestrians, and people not crossing the road safely.

Nineteen people have died crossing Clark County roads so far this year.

There have been no pedestrian deaths in Boulder City so far in 2012, but officers want to make sure no one is injured or killed this year.
