MOAPA, NV (FOX5) -
A 23-year-old man from Texas was killed on Saturday evening after his motorcycle struck a curb and lost control in Moapa Valley.
The accident happened at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Lillian Condie Road, just south of Hank Circle.
Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling northbound on Lillian Condie Road in a residential neighborhood at a high rate of speed.
The Yamaha failed to maintain its travel lane and struck the east curb, lost control and struck a block wall.
The man was transported to Perkins Field Hospital where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
This collision was the 50th traffic related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2012.
The man's name has not been released.
