President Barack Obama is slated to make an appearance in northern Nevada Friday as part of his push to have Congress act on a "To Do List" to help businesses, homeowners and veterans.
The White House announced Wednesday that his trip to Reno will include a visit with a family there and remarks highlighting his call to Congress to help homeowners who have been paying their mortgages.
According to the White House, the president wants a bipartisan Congress to pass legislation that will give responsible homeowners security in retaining their home and the opportunity to refinance at lower rates.
The "To Do List" for Congress, which was announced this week, also calls for a new 20 percent tax credit for companies that move jobs back to the United States.
In addition, Obama has called on a small business tax credit for new hires, a tax credit in clean energy futures and the creation of a veterans job corps to help those returning from Afghanistan and Iraq to get jobs serving the community.
