Las Vegas Metro police said a would-be robber waited behind an electrical box before trying to rob a southwest end restaurant.
Detectives said the suspect put on a mask and wore a dark-colored hoodie in the attempted hold-up.
Employees were able to spot the armed bandit and locked the doors to the business, thwarting his plans.
Police said the suspect fled the area in a blue sport utility vehicle.
