Coroner: Man hit by ambulance was committing suicide

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Authorities said a man who was struck by an ambulance while crossing a street was trying to commit suicide.

On Tuesday, the Clark County Coroner's office said Carlos J. Hernandez, 46, died of multiple blunt force trauma in the Apr. 22 incident.

According to North Las Vegas police, Hernandez had been jaywalking across Lake Mead Boulevard near Pecos Road.

Two people inside the ambulance were not injured in the incident.
