LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A northern Arizona man was charged with extreme DUI on Tuesday after Mohave County Sheriff's deputies said he fell asleep at the wheel of his truck while stopped at a red light.

Matthew Joel Miranda, 27, was arrested just after 12:30 a.m. at Highway 95 and Aztec Road in Fort Mohave.

Deputies waiting behind Miranda at the intersection said the light turned green but he did not go. When they approached the truck's cab, they found Miranda asleep with the vehicle in drive and smelling of alcohol, according to police.

Authorities said Miranda admitted to drinking four-to-five beers and had a blood alcohol content of .194.
