HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

As the dog responsible for killing a Henderson toddler faces euthanasia, several people are making a strong call to save the canine.

As the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported, an animal sanctuary in Colorado that specializes in rehabilitating violent dogs wants to take custody of the 120-pound Mastiff named "Onion."

According to Henderson police, animal control took custody of the dog after the Apr. 27 incident which killed 1-year-old Jeremiah Eskew-Shahan.

Police said the canine was turned over to an animal shelter for rabies observation and is expected to be put down.

What do you think of the possibility of saving the dog? Should he be turned over to the animal sanctuary? Should the canine be put down?
