LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
North Las Vegas Police are on the lookout for drivers failing to yield to people crossing the road.
This is part of the "Joining Forces" pedestrian safety event on Monday until 5 p.m.
Officers are patrolling major thoroughfares throughout North Las Vegas and concentrating on areas with high vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
They will stop drivers who don't yield to pedestrians, drivers who are speeding and pedestrians who do not use a crosswalk.
The "Joining Forces" event is made possible by a Traffic Safety Grant from the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety.
