HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

A valley mom is busted for leaving her children in the family SUV during the hottest part of the day and a FOX5 camera captured her arrest.

Just after 4 p.m., FOX5 arrived to witness paramedics attending to two small girls, aged 5 and 6, who had been left unattended in the back of the vehicle at the Wildfire Casino on Sunset Road in Henderson.

Police said the windows had been rolled up when they arrived.

Moments later, the girls' mother came running out of the casino to see officers surrounding the SUV. The woman seemed stunned. Police said she had been inside for about 10 minutes. Witnesses, however, said it was much longer. One of those witnesses called 911.

"I approached the vehicle when I saw security and he wasn't calling the police so I made the call and walked over and they looked hot so I gave them some bottled water," said witness Danielle Barnard.

The girls were removed from the vehicle unharmed. The girls' mother was arrested and will be charged with either child endangerment or leaving children in a vehicle unattended.

State laws says that a single child must be at least 8 years old to be left unattended in a vehicle. If there is more than one child, the supervisory child must be at least 12 years old.
