‘An Evening with Dave Rice' to draw awareness for autism

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

University of Nevada, Las Vegas head men's basketball coach, Dave Rice, will hold "An Evening with Dave Rice" on Friday at the Palms Casino and Resort.

More than 400 people are expected to attend the inaugural event which benefits the Dave Rice Foundation and The UNLV Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The evening will include food, drinks, auctions and the presentation of the Kenny Guinn Award for Commitment to Community.

Legendary UNLV basketball stars such as Stacy Augmon and others will attend and serve as Honorary Chairmen of the event.

Special guests will include former Nevada Gov. Bob Miller and his wife, Sandy; former chairman of the Clark County Commission, Rory Reid; Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly and several members of UNLV's board of regents.

A VIP cocktail reception and silent auction will kick off the event at 6:30 p.m., followed by the event program at 7:30 p.m.

A few individual tickets are still available, and donations to benefit the cause can be made at www.davericefoundation.org.
