Several local charities were given 77 seconds to collect needed items for their organizations in Smith's Charity Shopping Spree.

The grocery store held the event with Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman serving as host.

Each charity decorated a grocery cart and was assigned an area of the store for their shopping spree.

Organizations collected as many items as they could fit in their carts in 77 seconds.

Smith's also gave each organization a $700 gift card.

The charities participating were Catholic Charities, Three Square Food Bank, Salvation Army, Street Teens, Boys & Girls Club of Las Vegas, Jewish Family Services and Las Vegas Humane Society.
