Penny by penny, Vegas gas prices trickle down

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The difference may be too small to notice, but southern Nevadans have been paying less to fill up at the gas pump.

According to AAA's Fuel Gauge Report website, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Las Vegas was $3.87 on Friday. That's down three cents from one week ago and eight cents from one month ago.

The cost of gas is now less than the $3.89 average posted at the beginning of May 2011, AAA reported.

Prices spiked around the same time last year before a steady decline through December.

The national average for a gallon of gas is $3.80, according to AAA.
