A 2-year-old is badly burned and his 20-year-old stepfather is under arrest.
Metro police Tuesday arrested Demar Barnes and charged him with child abuse with substantial bodily harm and child neglect.
According to police, the child was left in Barnes' care while the biological mother was out of town. When she returned to her home in the 4800 block of Spencer Street, she discovered burns on the toddler's body and called for help.
Barnes was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
