Woman severely burned in NLV apartment fire

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

A woman at a North Las Vegas senior apartment complex sustained severe burn injuries after a reported fire Wednesday.

North Las Vegas fire reported the incident at the Salvation Army Silvercrest Apartments in the 2800 block of Equador Avenue about 2:35 a.m.

Crews arrived to find residents evacuated. Firefighters were directed to a specific apartment where smoke came out of the bottom of the front door, officials said.

Firefighters located a woman inside the apartment with burns on about 80 percent of her body.

Officials said any fire inside the apartment was put out by sprinklers.

No word on what started the blaze or the estimated cost of damage.
