LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A mother and daughter carefully plotted the killing of an elderly neighbor last week, bringing along rubber gloves, extra clothing and a weapon hidden in a baby stroller, Las Vegas Metro police said Monday.

But the scheme unraveled, according to an arrest report, when they were caught on surveillance video using the victim's bank card.

Lourie Rodriguez, 46, and Amber Hall, 26, face charges that include murder, robbery, burglary and conspiracy. They were arrested Sunday, after a search of their home turned up evidence linking them to the killing of 73-year-old Jean Greenburg.

Greenburg, a collector of valuable coins, was found dead Friday in her home at the Pinewood Apartments on Cambridge Street near Twain Avenue. Authorities said she had been beaten and stabbed multiple times while sitting in her recliner.

Blood was splattered on the walls and furniture of the apartment, according to police.

Greenburg's ATM card was later used at a nearby Vons store, police said, and surveillance video from the store showed Rodriguez and Hall attempting to use the machine.

The two later confessed to the crimes, according to the report, saying they went to Greenburg's home with Hall's 3-month-old son and two weapons, a piece of wood and a knife.

"Hall concealed the wood in her baby stroller," police said in the report, "and once inside the apartment, removed the wood and hid it in Greenburg's bathroom."

In the confession, Hall claimed Rodriguez retrieved the wood and beat Greenburg in the head before stabbing her in the neck.

The two then disposed of the evidence and went to a pawn shop the next day, where they sold Greenburg's stolen coins for about $2,000, according to the report.

The cash, along with two cell phones and bloody clothing were among the evidence police said was taken during a search of Rodriguez and Hall's home.

A search of a nearby dumpster also turned up items related to coin collecting, a broken piece of wood and a knife, according to the report.

Rodriguez's boyfriend, Bobby Palmer, was also questioned about the killings, but was released. In the report, Palmer said he suspected Rodriguez was involved, but denied he had any part in the crime.
