NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -
North Las Vegas police issued 34 citations for cell phone violations in an enforcement event that targeted distracted driving.
The event on Apr. 10 sought drivers who were on cell phones. Officers were also on the look out for motorcyclists who appeared to break rules applied to them.
In addition to the cell phone violations, 39 speeding violations and five failure to yield to a driver/pedestrian violations were issued.
The other citations issued during the event, according to NLVPD, included:
- 36 driver's license violations;
- 29 registration violations;
- 19 equipment violations;
- 29 no insurance violations;
- 10 red light violations;
- 30 other violations;
- 29 warnings issued.
The enforcement detail was made possible by a Traffic Safety grant from the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety.
