LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A Las Vegas bartender angry that a co-worker wouldn't date him tried to kill the woman during a shooting spree in the southwest valley.
That's according to Metro police, who on Friday identified 42-year-old James Keck as the man arrested following a shooting spree at Bomas Bar and Grill on Durango Drive near Windmill Lane.
Keck is charged with three counts of attempted murder, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of burglary.
Witnesses said he stormed into the bar on Thursday afternoon to confront another bartender, 30-year-old Erin Merical.
In an arrest report, Merical said she had recently received threatening phone calls after refusing his romantic advances. She claimed he threatened over the phone that he was going to kill her.
According to police, Keck entered Bomas with a pump-action shotgun and chased Merical around the bar before firing one shot at her.
Merical fled outside to the management offices of Bomas, BEK Gaming, where police said she took cover with other employees while Keck fired several shots into the business.
Merical was shot in the hand. A second victim, 50-year-old Rene Degonia, was shot in the arm. The third victim, 40-year-old Patricia Sepcic, was behind a door when she was shot in the chest.
Sepcic is in critical but stable condition at University Medical Center. Degonia was hospitalized in stable condition. Merical was treated and released.
Keck surrendered to officers at the scene but did not give a statement. Police said he had recently been suspended from work after failing a drug test.
