LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A man who died after a single-vehicle wreck on U.S. 95 veered into a construction zone and struck a median barrier wall several times, investigators said.
Nevada Highway Patrol said a Hyundai driven by Frank Leo Drozd, 65, was traveling southbound on the freeway near Summerlin Parkway Tuesday afternoon when it veered into the leftmost lane, which was under construction.
Drozd's car struck the concrete median wall several times. The car also struck a construction sign and multiple construction barrels before traveling southwesterly across the southbound travel lanes.
The NHP said the car struck a rightmost guardrail, where the vehicle came to rest.
Drozd was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers were told Drozd may have suffered a heart attack at the time of the accident.
The Clark County Coroner's office is expected to determine the driver's cause of death.
