HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -
As the Salvation Army struggles with dwindling donations and sales, it suffered a major blow Wednesday. A car drove through the front of the thrift store at 360 N. Stephanie in Henderson.
The damage is such that the city of Henderson building inspector has declared it unsafe, meaning it will remain closed until repairs are made.
The Salvation Army said that while they will work to make repairs as quickly as possible, 15 people will be out of work until the thrift store reopens.
There is no word yet on the circumstances of the crash or if the driver was hurt or cited.
Income from the thrift stores goes to the Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Program, which helps those struggling with addictions to drugs, alcohol and gambling.
