LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A tour bus promoting the importance of travel and tourism in the United States is expected to make a stop in Las Vegas on Thursday.

The U.S. Travel Association is bringing its "Vote Travel" bus to show the benefits of the tourism industry.

The association is using this year's upcoming primary elections as a backdrop to promote tourism, which, it reports, generates $1.8 trillion in economic output around the country.

The association also said the stop in Las Vegas is fitting due to tourism being the no. 1 economic driver to the area. About $40 billion are generated for the local economy and 370,000 jobs are supported, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Bureau reported.

The bus will roll into Cashman Center beginning at 8 a.m.

The tour kicked off last month and has made stops in places like Mt. Rushmore, S.D., Denver, Cheyenne, Wyo. and Chicago.
