LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The Las Vegas Strip is known for being bright, shiny and neon. On Saturday night, all that will change.
From 8:30 until 9:30 much of the Strip will go dark in honor of Earth Hour. It's in support of the World Wildlife Fund.
Many casinos will be shutting off non-essential lighting and marquees.
Some of the participating casinos are Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Bellagio, Aria and Rio. Off-Strip locations include Sam's Town, Main Street Station and the California.
Nearly 135 countries participated in the event in 2011.
