LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police said a Hummer that ran a red light slammed into a car east of the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, killing the driver and another motorist.

The crash happened at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Swenson Street at 9:22 a.m.

A Toyota Corolla heading westbound on Flamingo was turning on to southbound Swenson when it was struck by the Hummer. The Hummer then struck a Chevy van that had turned right from northbound Swenson to head eastbound on Flaming.

The Hummer rolled onto its roof and the driver was ejected.

The Hummer's driver, a 58-year-old man, died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, a 26-year-old man, was transported to Sunrise Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

The people in Chevy were also transported to Sunrise Hospital with minor injuries.

The intersection was expected to remain closed for several hours.
