LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

For once, there could be more people leaving Las Vegas on a Friday than coming in.

That's if Mega Millions fans can even wait that long to buy tickets for the March 30 drawing and its $500 million prize; the largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.

If the winner doesn't feel like stretching that payment out over time, they can take the cash option: $359 million.

Nevadans can enjoy a game of chance at any hour of the day or night, but the state is one of just a handful that don't participate in Mega Millions.

That's what's driving thousands of Las Vegans across the state line into California and Arizona, the closest places to buy lottery tickets.
