Michael Bennett, father of drunk driving victim Lindsey Bennett, attends the LB3 event
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Local advocate groups unveiled a new anti-impaired driving campaign at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion today.
The LB3 Foundation and the Nevada Department of Public Safety's Office of Traffic Safety have joined with designer Blake Bradley and IMG Sports Marketing to launch the campaign.
As part of the anti-DUI initiative, those exiting restrooms at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion will see images of themselves behind bars.
The images will be accompanied by a caption that reads "This Could be You… Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving."
The move is designed to stop drinkers in their tracks in the place where all drinkers have to go.
The LB3 Foundation is an organization dedicated to the memory of 19-year-old Lindsay Bennett, who was killed by a drunk driver almost three years ago.
"Reaching out to the LB3 Foundation was the right fit for the right campaign to us, as we look for opportunities to support families who strive to better our community," said Valerie Evans, Marketing Coordinator for the Office of Traffic Safety.
The organizations specifically chose to unveil the new campaign this morning in conjunction with this weekend's Dublin Down Festival for St. Patrick's Day at Thomas and Mack.
The initiative is a reminder for residents to be safe this holiday weekend.
