LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The Container Store, which sells home organization kits, is opening a new store at Town Square in Las Vegas and looking to fill 60 positions.
"We are looking for, we call them great people that want to just help our customers get organized and save space and time in their lives," Beth Papahronis, recruiting manager for the Container Store, tells FOX5.
Although the number of positions may not be impressive, the company says it's offering quality jobs.
The Container Store is ranked 21st on Fortune Magazine's top 100 companies to work for. That's a list the company has made for the past 13 years. At one time, it made the number one spot two years in a row.
And the company says its hiring process is unique, picking applicants to meet in a group first before one-on-one interviews.
"We will try to get to know people as best we can in a small group of 10 people and really to get people to learn more about us in an hour and a half's time," Papahronis said.
Instead of building a new store, as companies like WinCo Foods have recently done, the Container Store decided to utilize a vacant space at Town Square.
For those that work at other shops and restaurants there, that brings hope to attract more business.
"I think it's going to bring a lot more business in the Town Square area, which is good for the businesses down here because it's a lot slower at night time," said Ashley Holmquist, who works at Bohme Boutique.
The move could also bring tenants to other vacant stores at Town Square.
"Yeah, it's cool that they're, you know, recycling a vacant space," said shopper Jason Huskey.
