LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A Las Vegas woman accused of killing her daughter stabbed the girl with scissors and was later found in a street naked and covered in blood.

That's according to Metro police, who said that 27-year-old Danielle Slaughter had been taken to a hospital hours before the 6-year-old's body was found Sunday in the family's home on Palmae Way near Vegas Drive and Tenaya Way.

Upon learning that Slaughter's child was dead, detectives charged her with murder with a deadly weapon.

A motive for the killing is unknown. At a news conference on Monday, police said Slaughter had no criminal record and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol when she was found a few blocks away from the house at about 6 p.m.

No one was home at the time of the killing, according to police. A roommate discovered the body and called 911 just before 9 p.m.
