LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Typically, organized five-kilometer runs are mostly about the speed and the competition.
A run scheduled for Saturday in downtown Las Vegas, however, aims to splash some color into its participants.
Organizers call the Color Run a one-of-a-kind experience that invites people of all different speeds, ages, shapes and sizes.
The race calls for all runners to wear white T-shirts as they run a course where they will be met with edible powder of different colors.
At each kilometer, the racers will be met with mist of yellow, blue, green and pink powder with a "color extravaganza" at the finish line.
Organizers estimate 2,000 participants to take part in the event which starts at 9 a.m. at the corner of Carson Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard.
Three Square Food Bank was designated as this year's charity benefiting from the race.
Registration is available for solo runners before the race's start for $50 per person.
