LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Investigators with the Clark County Fire Department and the ATF have wrapped up their on-scene investigation of a Wednesday morning fire that destroyed an under-construction Muslim funeral home and cemetery.

Debris and evidence collected from the scene will now be analyzed to determine the origin and cause of the fire.

"This was a very large and destructive fire, and fire investigators have spent the last two days sifting through the debris," said Clark County Fire Chief Bertral Washington. "It will take some time to determine the origin and cause of the fire. We will make the results of our investigation known to the public when the investigation is complete."

About 60 firefighters with Clark County and other jurisdictions responded to the blaze at around 1 a.m. Wednesday. The structure, located at 4425 E. Cartier Ave., was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

Damage is estimated at $1.5 million. The ATF gets involved with fires that occur on religious properties.

Anyone with information is urged to call Secret Witness at (702)-385-5555.
