NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -
A man claiming to a doctor lured unsuspecting patients into his home, where they were sexually assaulted while sedated.
That's according to North Las Vegas police, who on Thursday announced criminal charges against 44-year-old Juan Alberto Ruan-Rivera.
The criminal case goes back to 2006, when Ruan-Rivera was posing as a physician who was licensed in Mexico, according to a police report.
Detectives said he would target uninsured Hispanics who had few options for treatment and invite them to his North Las Vegas home.
After being given drugs to make the victims drowsy, police said, Ruan-Rivera committed unspecified acts of sexual assault.
The victims, police said, include a 5-year-old boy.
A 51-year-old North Las Vega woman and a 27-year-old woman from Victorville, CA were also attacked by the "doctor," according to police.
Ruan-Rivera is being held on $173,000 bail and faces three counts of sexual assault, including one with a victim under 14. He's also charged with violating of a temporary protection order and attempting to subjorn perjury.
Police are looking for additional witnesses, noting that Ruan-Rivera has also spent time in the California communities of Blythe and Chula Vista, Texas, and Anchorage, AK.
