Canceled Elton John shows blamed on food poisoning

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Strip headliner Elton John missed two performances at Caesars Palace over the weekend due to a case of food poisoning, a spokeswoman with Caesars Entertainment told FOX5.

John's "Million Dollar Piano" show was canceled Friday and Saturday night. The illness also forced the singer to skip Whitney Houston's funeral in New Jersey, according to the gaming company.

John is scheduled to return to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for his next show on April 13.
