'Occupy' group leaving Las Vegas site

Posted: Updated:
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Members of the "Occupy Las Vegas" group are vacating their encampment in the southeast valley.

The group's permit for the "Area 99" lot at Tropicana Avenue and Paradise Road was set to expire at 5 p.m. Monday. Members were expected to leave peacefully, according to the Occupy Las Vegas website.

Little evidence of the "Occupy" movement remained at the camp Monday morning. A FOX5 photographer noted that it was mostly occupied by the homeless.

"Occupy" members set up the camp in the fall as the movement gained media attention nationwide. Clark County issued its last 90-day extension for the camp in November.
