HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -
A Henderson man is facing extradition from Arizona in connection with the stabbing death of a woman found inside a burning car near Kingman Tuesday, Henderson police said.
42-year-old John David Marshall is currently being held at the Mohave County Jail without bail. He faces murder and kidnapping charges related to the slaying of his ex-girlfriend.
Police said a friend of the victim called 911 Tuesday morning claiming Marshall had called him, confessing to the crime and saying he was driving to Boulder City to kill himself.
When police contacted Marshall by phone, he affirmed the friend's story, but would not divulge his location.
The car was found aflame near Golden Valley, west of Kingman. The victim's body was found inside the car. Mohave County Sheriff deputies captured Marshall running from the burning car.
The victim's name will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office after her family has been notified.
