LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Tuesday will mark the grand opening of the long-awaited Mob Museum located in downtown Las Vegas.

The officially-named National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement will have events all morning leading up to its opening.

At 8 a.m., a mass wedding will be officiated by former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman followed by a champagne toast at the adjacent Mob Bar.

A grand opening ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the museum located at 300 Stewart Avenue.

Due to the grand opening, a portion of Stewart Avenue will be closed between Casino Center and Fourth Street. The street will be shut down from 4 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Drivers can use the Las Vegas Boulevard exit off U.S. 95 for eastbound travel on Stewart Avenue.

Other east and westbound alternatives are Bonanza Road and Ogden Avenue.

The museum has been under construction at the old post office and federal courthouse at Stewart Avenue and Third Street.

City officials reported the cost of the building at $42 million and it has been a key component to the city's redevelopment plans.

Tickets are $10 for Nevada residents. Prices for out-of-state visitors range from $12 for children to $18 for adults.

By contrast, tickets at the Tropicana's Mob Experience, which opened earlier this year, are $15.

The Mob Museum will be open Sundays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
