World's 'best bagger' to be decided in Vegas Monday

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The 26th Annual Best Bagger Championship is being held at the Mirage Hotel & Casino Monday.

Contestants from 24 states will go head-to-head for a chance to win up to $10,000 in cash prizes.

Baggers will be judged in a variety of categories including speed, weight distribution, attitude and the ability to pack fragile items like eggs and bread.

Last year's winner, Krystal Smith, filled three grocery bags in 38 seconds.

The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. inside the Mirage Events Center.

The National Grocers Association hopes to highlight the industry's emphasis on exceptional customer service through the championship.
