Even rugged hockey players have soft spots. Friday night's Las Vegas Wranglers game will be all about honoring those who have battled breast cancer.
The players will don vintage black and pink jerseys in celebration of "Pink in the Rink." Jersey auctions and tickets proceeds will benefit the St. Rose Dominican Hospital's Health Foundation and Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Southern Nevada.
The Wranglers will take on the Bakersfield Condors at 7:05 p.m. There will also be a silent auction for autographed, game-worn jerseys. Fans are encouraged to wear pink, too.
"Athletes have such a different platform to be able to raise awareness, and we have found an incredible generosity in local sports," Stephanie Kirby, Executive Director for Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Southern Nevada, said. "We're grateful for this new relationship with the Wranglers and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future."
Tickets are available by phone at (702)-284-7777 and in person at all Coast Casino properties. For more information, visit www.lasvegaswranglers.com.
