Las Vegas-based Golden Nugget is enlisting online gaming developer Chiligaming in the casino company's online venture.
Golden Nugget said the two will launch a free-play website later this year in anticipation of the legalization of online gaming in the United States.
Golden Nugget Chairman and Owner, Tilman J. Fertitta, said they chose French-based Chiligaming after a nine month search, which looked into more than a dozen internet gaming companies.
"They were experienced in online gaming in Europe and demonstrated incredible passion, talent and knowledge which our team found to far exceed their competitors," Feritta said. "We believe that online gaming is inevitable in the United States and that the Golden Nugget will be well positioned to compete when US laws allow for online gaming."
Golden Nugget indicated the move positions the company toward online gaming as soon as it is legalized in the U.S., calling Chiligaming's chief iGaming platform central to the company's swift entry into the market.
