The Las Vegas Valley Dog Obedience Club is holding their 100th obedience trial this weekend at Horseman's Park on the east side of town.
The trials are approved by the American Kennel Club starting Friday morning and run Saturday and Sunday as well.
A variety of breeds are on hand competing in the agility and obedience competition. The events this weekend are open to both purebreds and mixed breeds.
At the competition the dogs are judged on their obedience training, working as a team with their handler, jumping and retrieving and obeying non-verbal commands.
The events are free to the public but they ask that only dogs already registered in the competition be on site. You can find more information at www.vvdoc.org.
