Major construction on Rancho in Summerlin this weekend

Posted: Updated:
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Rancho Boulevard and detouring U.S. 95 will again be a construction mess this weekend as crews continue the installation of overhead girders on the Summerlin HOV flyover bridge.

Traffic closures and reconfiguration will start Friday at 7 p.m. and continue until Monday at 5 a.m. The Nevada Highway Patrol will be patrolling the area to make sure drivers use caution around the construction zone.

The following reconfigurations will be in effect:

  • Northbound U.S. 95 will have one lane open and will no longer be detoured.
  • Southbound U.S. 95 will continue to be detoured through Rainbow Blvd.
  • Summerlin Parkway eastbound onto U.S. 95 southbound will have one lane open. No closures on Summerlin Parkway West.
  • Access from Rainbow Blvd. to northbound U.S. 95 will no longer be restricted.
  • Silver Springs Rd. at Rainbow Blvd. will remain open.
  • Access to U.S. 95 north from Jones Blvd. and from Lake Mead Blvd. to U.S. 95 south will be restricted.
  • Shuttle services will continue to be provided 24-hours for pedestrians needing to get across Rainbow Blvd.
  • Drives needing to get across Rainbow Blvd. will be diverted through surface streets and marked detours. Use recommended or preferred alternate route.

The Summerlin HOV connector is a federally-funded project to create an overpass for drivers using the HOV connectors to exit onto Summerlin Parkway. The $26 million project is expected to be complete by this summer.
