Suspect in deadly DUI crash ID'd

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Metro police have identified a woman arrested for DUI in connection with a deadly crash over the weekend.

33-year-old Veronica Arana was arrested Sunday at University Medical Center Trauma. She is accused of causing a crash at Rainbow Boulevard and Wigwam Avenue that claimed one life.

Police believe Arana was driving south in the northbound lane of Rainbow when she struck a vehicle that was subsequently hit by another vehicle. The driver died and Arana was taken to UMC Trauma for treatment.

Police say Arana was lethargic and slurring her speech when they tested her for alcohol at UMC. She is charged with DUI/alcohol resulting in death. Police have yet to release her mug shot.
